I know this spell of “cooler” weather won’t last, but technically winter is coming, and with that in mind, I thought this would be an appropriate time to share some places where you can donate some clothes for those in need.
- The Orange County Rescue Mission has a list of urgent items it needs, including children and adult clothing items (please see their list)
- Teen Challenge of Southern California allows you to schedule a pick up
- Vietnam Veterans of America also schedules pick ups of donations
- For gently used baby and maternity items, you can donate to MOMS Orange County
- Human Options isn’t in need of clothing at the moment, but does have a list of specific needs
- Casa Teresa is another women’s shelter in Orange that accepts clothing donations
And of course, there’s always Goodwill and Salvation Army.
Next month: holiday volunteer opportunities! If you and your family have a tradition of volunteering over the holidays, please share with me your favorite organization to volunteer with!
